In the last couple of months, I have encouraged readers of “Motivational Monday” on resilient sales and persistent sales with both involve one important “Vitamin C”—Commitment. No, this is not a blog about title commitments. It is about the state or quality of being 100% dedicated to the sale, cause, activity, or person. Unfortunately, due a lot to social media, our society has driven us away from deep commitments and connections with people. We know what everyone is doing, and we can comment on Facebook photos to stay connected, but the depth of our relationships are not as deep as they once were. This is not a slam on Facebook, because I myself use Facebook and like it. I am just encouraging friends to go deeper. Commit to face-to-face meetings, sharing of personal goals, knowing what makes a person feel happy, proud, sad, or angry. Commit to the whole—not just part of the person or transaction. Do not forget to take your “Vitamin C” every day to remind you of the importance of commitment, the agent that really makes things happen.
